Looking for fun events, activities or places to go on the weekends with your family here in Arizona? Here are 8 family fun activities for you to enjoy. It's the perfect time of year to get out and explore the beautiful State that we live in!
1. Hike Wind Cave Trail
Wind Cave is the perfect trail in Mesa to see the wildflowers this time of year. To get there, follow the main road into Usery Mountain Regional Park (Usery Park Road) about one mile, to Wind Cave Drive. Turn north (left), and park at the trailhead. (Parking may be scarce during peak weekend hiking hours; if so, park in designated spaces back out on Usery Park Road, and hoof it back to the trailhead.)
From there, you can see where you’re headed: Look up and to the far right of Pass Mountain’s signature band of yellow rock. Wind Cave is the place where there’s a shadow.
2. Visit Downtown Gilbert & Chandler
Downtown Gilbert and Downtown Chandler are both historic old town areas filled with Restaurants, Shopping, Events, Ice Cream, Family Events, Coffee Shops, Splash Pads and More! If you live in the East Valley, these two places may already be on your list of weekend activities with the fam, but if you haven't been, it's time to check them out!

3. Go To A Diamondbacks Or Suns Game
It's the perfect time of year to take your family out to the ball game! Baseball and Basketball games in The Valley are always going to be a good time. Downtown Phoenix hosts the Home Games for The Diamondbacks and The Suns. Like Gilbert & Chandler, Phoenix has added many fun restaurants and things to do in their Downtown area. Spend the afternoon or the weekend in Phoenix before or after seeing one of the games!

5. Rent A Cabin In Pinetop
Looking to get out of The Valley, but don't want to go too far? Renting a cabin in Pinetop is a great option for a family that wants to get outdoors and enjoy nature. There are many places to find that perfect cabin to stay in. We recommend looking at what is available on Airbnb. Otherwise, visiting the Pinetop website has many options as well along with events happening that week and weather conditions!

Visiting Sedona is a local Arizona Favorite! From hiking and trail walks with amazing views to shopping and various dining to choose from, you can make a weekend out of the trip or just drive up for the day. Such a beautiful place to visit!

7. Plan A Day In Antelope Canyon
Another short drive North of The Valley is Page, AZ. This is where you will find the stunning Antelope Canyon. Also known as "Corkscrew Canyon", awaits the adventurous traveler who seeks to discover one of the most spectacular, yet little known attractions of the Lake Powell area. A tour to this awe-inspiring sculpture set in stone is a must for amateur and professional photographers alike. Come see nature's surprising masterpiece of color. You'll love every second of this trip with your family.
8. Have A Picnic At The Phoenix ZOO
Take the family to the ZOO! Better yet, bring a picnic or plan an event. Like the rest of The Valley, the ZOO is a great place to check out events. You can also plan a birthday party or family reunion at one of their many ramadas.
