For all of us, Labor Day is a celebration of the labor movement and of the contributions workers have made to our country. For some, Labor Day is also an extra day off, where we are able to reset from the chaos of life and enjoy time with our family before going back to work. With an extra day added onto our weekend, there is plenty of things to do around the state that will be fun for the whole family!
The Tourist Spots
Become a tourist for the weekend! Did you know many Arizona natives have never ventured up to some of the most popular places in their state, like the Grand Canyon? If this is you, now is the time!
Make a day trip, or a weekend trip, out of going to the tourist spots around Arizona. Hike into the Grand Canyon, take a Pink Jeep Tour in Sedona, or stand on the corner in Winslow, Arizona!
This weekend is the time to step away from the idea that you have nothing to do, and become a tourist in your own state!
The Unique Spots
There are many unique places filled with history that are perfect for the whole family around the state.
The Montezuma Castle is one of the best preserved cliff dwellings on the continent from the 12th century. The Barringer Crater was formed around 40,000 years ago from a meteorite impact! There are also plenty of ghost towns around the state that can give you a slice of history paired with an eerie feeling!
Have a great experience without the crowds this weekend by visiting some of the most unique spots in Arizona!

Not interested in a road trip? No worries! Find some local spots in your area that you have not had time yet to explore.
With the ever expanding downtown areas, there is sure to be something new!
Head down to the Arizona Railway Museum for their first open weekend of the season. Or attend the Farmers Market in either Chandler and Gilbert areas for an early morning experience! Need to beat the heat? A simple movie with the family is never a bad idea either!
The Cozy Spot
If all of these ideas create more stress in your life, then it may be best to spend the extra day at home.
There is nothing wrong with sitting back on the couch with your family and friends and watching television all day.
