Closing the Year with Gratitude: Community, Impact, and the Power of the Ask
As we close out Chanukah and step into Christmas, this season invites a different kind of reflection - one rooted in gratitude, connection, and the quiet moments that shape who we are and how we show up.
For us at the Amy Jones Group, that reflection always comes back to community.
This past year wasn’t just about homes bought and sold. It was about people - families navigating change, neighbors showing up for one another, and a community choosing, again and again, to support something bigger than even the hundred transactions we helped families with this year.
In fact, it was about MUCH more than real estate - it truly was about building community on purpose
Every home purchase or sale, every referral, every shared post, and every invitation to a community event created a ripple effect and YOU made that happen. Through that collective momentum with our nonprofit organization, Community on Purpose, we made giving back easy, accessible, and meaningful.
While we’re still finalizing year-end totals, we can confidently share the magnitude of what you and this community made possible:
• Hundreds of volunteer hours served across the Valley
• Thousands of dollars directly provided to local nonprofits
• Tens of thousands of dollars in in-kind donations and indirect support
That support took many forms - food, clothing, hygiene kits, school supplies, notebooks, Halloween costumes, and holiday and birthday gifts - all delivered with dignity to children, families, seniors, and individuals throughout our community.
These numbers aren’t abstract. They represent full bellies, warm clothing, confident kids walking into school, supported seniors, and families reminded that they are not alone.
The power of the ask
Alongside gratitude, this season has also reminded us of something we believe deeply: the power of the ask.
Years ago, someone extended a simple invitation - not a pitch, not a perfectly timed opportunity - just an ask to get involved. Our founder and team leader, Mindy Jones, said yes - even though she wasn’t entirely sure she belonged in the room yet.
That one ask turned into years of learning, serving, leading, and eventually stepping back into service again. It shaped how she leads the Amy Jones Group, how we as a community build stronger neighborhoods and families through Community on Purpose, and how intentional we are about inviting others into meaningful work.
Recently, someone shared how being asked to serve helped reconnect them to a part of themselves they thought they had lost - a desire to give back, to honor family legacy, and to make an impact even in a full and complicated season of life.
Being asked is a gift. Asking someone is an act of belief. And when we don’t ask, we don’t just miss an opportunity - we withhold one.
Why this matters - especially now
The holidays are a powerful reminder that leadership, generosity, and community don’t always start with grand gestures. More often, they begin with a simple invitation.
An invitation to serve. To lead. To give. To step into something meaningful.
The ripple effect is real - and it almost always starts with an ask.
Looking ahead with gratitude
As we close out this year and spend time with the people who matter most, we’re overwhelmed with gratitude and pride for this community. The impact shared through the Amy Jones Group and Community on Purpose is not something we take lightly - and it’s something we’re committed to stewarding with care.
If you’ve been thinking about inviting someone into something meaningful, consider this your sign. And if you’re planning a move in the coming year - whether soon or further down the road - know that we’re always here to support you, with clarity, intention, and heart.
From our family and team to yours, thank you for being part of this community and for helping make all of this possible.
