Moving in general is a big feat for any family, but it especially becomes a challenge when you are moving across the country to a new state. With so many questions running through your mind like which house is best for your family, where are the best schools, and what is the job market like, the whole process can seem a little overwhelming. With so many people moving to the East Valley, Chandler may be at the top of your list to investigate and explore. If you are considering a move to Chandler, Arizona, here is your guide to making this big relocation a little easier on you and your family.

The Housing Market

No hurricanes, no tornadoes, no avalanches, and definitely no snow storms. With close to perfect weather in every season, people buy and sell real estate all year long in Arizona. With Chandler specifically attracting large companies with an infrastructure that supports local business development, the revitalization of its downtown as well as the low inventory and rising prices, the real estate market is one of the hottest in the country.

With rising salaries, the settling of major employers in the area and its geographic placement in an area that still allows for new construction - it’s a very healthy market to buy into. Markets that are growing at unsustainable levels are often those that are being influenced by a fad, a trend, a brand (think Amazon in Seattle) and the fall will be felt when its no longer the HOT place to live or when the brand has outgrown the space. The Chandler market is fast appreciating because of its growth not in spite of it - making it a desirable place to make one of your most important purchases.

As you relocate to the area and face the challenge of low inventory, consider the benefits of purchasing in an appreciating market. While deemed a seller’s market for it’s low inventory, the Chandler market provides endless opportunities for staking your claim on a piece of property in a city slated for explosive growth and a very healthy, vibrant real estate market.

Job Opportunities

The Greater Phoenix area has been deemed the "Next Silicon Valley" by many, and with Intel, Orbital, Ebay, Wells Fargo, and Go Daddy already settling in Chandler - this corner of the East Valley is well on its way.

Employers are drawn to the city for its moderate tax structure, inclement weather providing a stable environment for data warehouses seeking shelter from more unstable environments like Silicon Valley and the Midwest, and the availability of both a skilled labor and educated workforce along with the relatively affordable housing that supports the settling of employers large and small to the area.

Chandler’s business sector is not only supported by Chandler residents but also those in nearby Mesa, Gilbert, Queen Creek and San Tan Valley. As much as the City of Phoenix has been well established as an employment sector for the Central and North Valley, Chandler is quickly moving into its position as the East Valley employment sector providing jobs and infrastructure for all of the East Valley.

There is no end in sight to the amount of job opportunities developing in and around Chandler, whether it be in technology, medicine, education, or others!

Best Schools

Chandler is filled with great schools including charter schools and the top rated Chandler Unified School District (CUSD).

CUSD is ranked the second best school district in Arizona (Niche.com) and has been named Arizona A+ Schools of Excellence or U.S. Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence 86 times since 1983, which is the most of any school district in Arizona.

There is also a big emphasis on STEM studies within CUSD, especially with Intel being an employment pillar of the community. Three CUSD Science Fair projects went on to win awards at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair!

The district also offers the opportunity for open enrollment which means you are able to find the best fit for your child's education, even if your home is not located within the boundaries of that school. With six high schools, eight junior high schools, and thirty-one elementary schools, there is no doubt your child will find the best learning experience to fit their individual needs!
