Market Update
'Tis the season for graduations, commencement ceremonies, proms, formals, and in our world even some new babies being born! Big life changes like these usually mean some tweaking is needed for our housing but with the market we’ve had in the last few years, only the brave were willing to play. The good news is, anyone with a home in the Arizona market has claim to one of the best ways to hedge against inflation and depending on how long your name has been on the tax record, likely a pile of proverbial cash that its already made for you. In fact, appreciation has been so high these last couple of years even with a modest dip in the latter half of 2022 that some of our clients are hitting a point where Uncle Sam wants their cut. So how do you avoid capital gains when you sell your home or maybe selling isn’t the answer - but being a landlord sounds a little scary? Let’s at least start by getting all you renters into something - I can’t stomach another calculation about how much in rent you’ve paid, that you could have applied towards a downpayment. No matter what, you should love the home in your in - and be able to see it as an investment at the same time. Women Empowered: Philanthropic Luncheon
The Gilbert Chamber of Commerce Women Empowered Committee is proud to host this year’s philanthropic luncheon at the Barn at Power Ranch on Tuesday, May 23rd from 11am - 1pm featuring dynamic guest speakers, power house networking opportunities, a raffle and auction with proceeds providing scholarships for female participants of Gilbert Leadership, and a beautiful brunch spread courtesy of our signature sponsors Mercedes Benz of Gilbert & Phoenix Children’s Hospital. This year’s theme, Empowered Women Empower Women: Creating Positive Workplaces & Thriving Communities, focuses on the importance of building strong community relationships, creating healthy workplaces for women, and manifesting opportunities to thrive and will feature a panel on promoting positive and empowered work and community environments for women. This event sells out every year and with the speaker lineup we’ve assembled, we know that this year will be no exception. Each quarter, we host our Women in Leadership Breakfast Event at Parlay Kitchen & Cocktails in Chandler, AZ with incredible guest speakers and the opportunity to network with women in the community. We are excited to announce our partnership with Amplify Voices on our June Women in Leadership Breakfast with guest speaker Deb Shapiro, founder of Amplify Voices. We'll hear from Deb on the "Power of Your Voice" and honor two women from the Beyond Breast Cancer speaker series who will share their story with us. Enjoy open networking, breakfast and mimosas and an amazing lineup of speakers as we explore how to amplify our voice and honor those who have a story to share. We founded Community on Purpose in 2022 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women and families in our community through volunteerism, fundraising, and direct giving along with our podcast where we give space to women who are intentionally creating community through business, giving and living.
Since its inception, we’ve been honored to provide critical funds to those in our community who need it most, raise awareness for organizations doing incredible work in our own community, and provide a platform for others seeking community through educational and social events, a private facebook group, and professional networking opportunities and volunteer days.
