Market Update
As of last week, the rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage is up to 5.27%—the highest it’s been in 13 years. While some might expect such a rise in interest rates would slow housing demand, so far this doesn’t seem to be the case.
Oxford Economics projects that even with the rise in interest rates, home prices will continue to appreciate 7.9% in 2022 and 7.1% in 2023. Homes are still selling fast. In fact, 50% of homes are still selling within 2 weeks.
In a recent Forbes Interview a lead economist and a senior director of research at Sundae said, “demand for homes will be as high, if not higher, while inventory will still be behind in the demand.” The bottom line: Buyer demand remains strong. Mortgage rates are (relatively) low. Inventory is still scarce. So, is it still a good time to sell? Simply put, yes. Sincerely, The Amy Jones Group p.s. Saturdays, October - June from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
The Downtown Chandler Farmers Market features dozens of local farmers, gourmet food vendors and artisans. The Market happens every Saturday in Dr. A.J. Chandler Park West and runs from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Come down, shop around and grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants in the Downtown. We have something for the whole family!
